Lumines Plus (PS2)

NOTE: I have to apolgise for playing so dreadfully, so be warned elitists. My video is here to show Lumines Plus in action not to showboat my skills. An apparently enhanced version of the original Playstation Portable puzzle game by the famed Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Space Channel 5 and Rez fame. Like Mizuguchi's other projects, Lumines is a game that focuses on style rather than substance. Lumines actual gameplay is rather simple ala the Tetris inspired row chaining blocks and break them apart in order to clear stages and gain points. Build the blocks into cubes alot like with Capcom's Puzzle Fighter and the rest is plain sailing. The mitigation to Lumines though comes from the style as mentioned. In particular the focus is getting the player into the "groove" of the game by moving to the spontaneity of the music. Practically all music genres are played and admittedly it works like a charm. Furthermore, this version of the game was released at a budget price. Though if you can't play Lumines on PS2 or PSP it is still very much available on Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and even the iPhone Apps store. All versions are available for less than £10 now too, so don't be shy, give it a try.

Cool. I’ve always been on the fence about picking it up for the PS2. I can actually get one day for the PSP, now that I have one:)
