is it possible to make a iphone 3g work on verizon?
well im asking this cause the blackberry storm has a Verizon chip in it and it can be unlocked to be taken to at&t so why not the iphone?

Because the iPhone is a GSM phone and doesn’t have the ability to work on a CDMA network. Moreover, even if you could make it work, Verizon wouldn’t activate it. Verizon allows only Verizon-branded phones on its network.

If you have a sim card you can jailbreak the iphone to unlock it, if you don’t have a sim card ur screwed sorry bro.

Nope. It would be like trying to use a FM radio to pick up an AM station. verizon uses CDMA, and while they have “chips” they are not SIM cards. At&t uses GSM and UMTS technology which utilize the SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) the same as the rest of the world. CDMA is used in the United States. I am also told Verizon will not allow non-verizon phones on your account. Sprint, US Cellular and Alltel all use the CDMA technology, and I have heard of many reports of verizon customers here recently wanting to put a Palm Pre on their account and verizon will not let them. I do not know this for a fact, as I have always used At&t.
